Solid Waste Management

SEAM has the skills to investigate, assess, design and audit solid-waste management facilities.

SEAM has been involved with a number of solid-waste management projects including:

  • Flinders Island Environmental Management Plan; a strategy to manage solid -waste for Flinders, carried out for Pitt & Sherry; this report examined all four landfill sites on Flinders Island and recommended a strategy for compliance with the current regulatory regime; the work included an assessment of a possible future landfill site on Lady Barren Island.
  • George Town Waste Depot Environmental Management Plan - This project involved an investigation and redesign of the landfill site, including rehabilitation and a new transfer station design.
  • Nubeena Landfill Rehabilitation Plan - This project has involved a detailed landfill rehabilitation design and a new transfer station design and documentation.
  • Hamilton Waste Depot Landfill Management Plan for the CHC.
  • Tender, Assessment and Management of Waste collection contacts.

The services cover the following aspects of solid waste management:

Waste Minimisation

Following the hierarchy of solid-waste management, SEAM can first audit waste management operations in a range of industries and then recommend a plan to minimise solid waste generation and save significant costs to the bottom line of operations.

Landfill Site and Waste Transfer Station Design

SEAM has experience with several landfill designs and waste transfer station layouts and designs.

Waste Auditing & Monitoring
